Page, Arizona is one of the many scenic wonders of the Southwest. The Navajo Canyons of Page display character, lines, and texture of the canyons making this an exciting location to visit. In this post, I feature images from the Upper Antelope Canyon and Owl Canyon
Near the entrance of the Upper Antelope Canyon, in Page, Arizona. The canyon walls have an incredible texture from the layers of collected sediment over millions of years and the shapes of the Navajo Sandstone were carved by the flash flooding of the seasonal rains. I think this area is one of the most unusual places on this earth.
One of the many beautiful canyons carved out by wind and water while displaying the light and shadows of this unusual area – Upper Antelope Canyon, Page, Arizona. Upper Antelope Canyon is called Tsé bighánílíní, translated – means “the place where water runs through rocks” by the Navajo.
The canyons of Page Arizona are beautiful, the colors, textures and shapes can mesmerize any visitor. Walking through some of the canyons can be a challenge to navigate with a backpack full of camera gear and a tripod, but the rewards are well worth it.
Two years ago I took a wonderful trip with my wife to Arizona. One of the places we visited was in Page, AZ on the Navajo lands featuring Upper Antelope Canyon and Owl Canyon. The area was magical and so colorful.
