I was amazed on how much Spanish Moss hung from the Live Oaks in Tallahassee, I think the area is an old forest perfectly suited for the growth.

I took a trip with my daughter to Tallahassee, Florida with my daughter in 2012. While we were there, we visited the State Capital Building with a wonderful friend, Teri, that works there. What a beautiful place! Below are some of the photos.

Photos by Lee Smith
These beautiful ornamental gardens were first planted in 1923 by Alfred B. and Louise Maclay after they purchased the property for their winter home. The magnificent landscape is a masterpiece of floral architecture, that feature a picturesque brick walkway, a secret garden, a reflection pool, a walled garden and incredible flowering plants.
The Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park is located in Tallahassee, Florida – .5 miles north of I-10 on U.S. 319/Thomasville Road. Turn west on Maclay Road. The park is a short distance on the right.
