San Francisco de Asis Mission Church

San Francisco de Asis Mission Church is a historic church in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico.

It is a large adobe structure, about 120 feet in length. Construction on this church began around 1772 and completed in 1815. The adobe structure has to be maintained on an annual basis by it’s members.

Georgia O’Keeffe created painting of the church. Ansel Adams, Paul Strand and Ned Scott visited and photographed the church.

The church was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1970
