High Atop the Trees

I walked up the 5 stories of stairs of the Observation Tower at Anne Kolb Nature Center to look out across preserve. I noticed some leaves rustling at the top of a tree – about 45 feet off the ground. I found this small raccoon nibbling away and balancing with each step on the small branches.

The Miami Circle

The Miami Circle – along the Miami River

The Miami Circle was discovered in 1998 and built by Native Americans.
Located on Brickell Point, it is an archaeological site located at the mouth of the Miami River in Downtown Miami, Florida.
Its a perfect circle measuring 38 feet (11.5m) across that contains 24 holes or basins cut into the limestone bedrock.
It is believed to have been the location of a structure, built by the Tequesta (also Tekesta) Indians almost 1,700 and 2,000 years ago.

The Brickell Waterfront

A photo walk along the Brickell waterfront area, with a cool morning and a bright almost cloudless sky. The winds were barely present but the beauty of the city was inspiring
