It was a bright windy day with large ocean swells. The beach was not dry due to the crashing shoreline waves that would wash over the beach. Not a normal day – the beach was not safe for sneakers or dry footwear. Barefoot was the only way to travel. The seagulls and the skimmers hung close to the sand and would only move if a passerby came to close. The winds were blowing out to sea carrying the salt water spray with it. In the water were only a few surfers attempting to ride the large swells.
