Deering Estates Sunrise

One of the most unique locations in South Florida – The Deering Estates – a photographer’s dream location to capture. The Deering Estate is comprised of many different ecosystems – pine rockland habitat, coastal tropical hardwoods, rockland hammocks, mangrove forests, salt marshes, a coastal dune island and a wonder Royal Palm tree lined boat dock along Biscayne Bay.

  • Deering Estate is a 444-acre archaeological, botanical and historical preserve.
  • Featuring Historic buildings – the Stone House and Richmond Cottage
  • Fossil bones have been found as far back at 50,000 years
  • The Deering Estate is part of the Miami-Dade County Parks Division

Sunrise at Deering Estates

It was an early morning at the Deering Estates. The special photographer’s event started at 5:30am so getting up at 4am was essential to make it on time. Although next time, I am stopping at that little gas station for a Cuban coffee and a ham croquette before the shoot.

As we walked to thru the entrance to the Estate, you could feel the breeze. The winds were pretty strong about 15 mph and the clouds were moving from the south – southeast.
