Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse

The lighthouse began it’s history 1890 when a bill was introduced in Congress to build a lighthouse at Hillsboro Inlet. In 1906 the land was cleared and the lighthouse construction began. In 1907 the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse was first illuminated with an incandescent Oil Vapor Lamp (like a “Coleman Mantle Lamp”) in a revolving Second Order Fresnel Lens.

Morning Light & The Lighthouse

The morning light was graceful at the Hillsboro light house. The heavy cloud line in the distance blocked the sun allowing me more time to digitally paint some photos with the early morning light.

Florida Scenery

The sun just rose high enough to brighten the tops of the offshore clouds, yet shade still covered the lighthouse and inlet.
