Great morning for a race – it was just cool enough for the hundreds of runners. The 5K race began on Watson Island and ended in South Beach.

I went to Watson Island at 5:00am to park my car for the Miami Marathon on Sunday, February 2nd. It was a quiet morning and the lights of the city looked magnificent.
It was a bright cloudless day in Pembroke Pines. I decided to take a quick trip to see Broward’s only known eagle nest. I was hoping to see one of the eaglets in the nest. After 150 shots, I could not tell how the photos came out because of the bright light and photographing south into the sun, but when I got home and reviewed the images – I one got one photo where I could see the eaglet.
