Bear Cut – Key Biscayne, Florida

Bear Cut is located on Key Biscayne, Florida. This was a favorite location I visited almost every weekend when I was a kid. I explored the fossilize mangrove roots, snorkeled the shallow tidal pools and collected marine tropical fish for our home aquarium. The half mile walk from the parking lot was like exploring Old Florida. The old parking lot is long gone and fenced off. So many great memories…

Devil’s Millhopper Geological State Park is a National Natural Landmark in Gainesville, Florida since the early 1880s. This area is like a miniature rain forest with small streams, steep slopes and winding stairs to the bottom of a limestone sinkhole.
