I was in Stuart, FL in June and had an opportunity to take some sunrise shots. Since I was not familiar with the area, I asked a bar tender at Outback Steak House while eating dinner if he knew any areas or scenic places to photograph. He mentioned this one location that offered public parking and easy access. I was really pleasantly surprised when I go to the beach and saw how beautiful the shoreline was. The Anastasia Limestone Formations run from Palm Beach to St. Augustine and are unusual because they are either buried or underwater normally. This section in Stuart, was simply amazing and stood 8-10ft in some places
It was a quiet December morning when I took this photo. The winds were blowing in from the north and the sun just started to rise. The warm glow of the sun cast its color across the sky and the buildings facing east. Amazingly there were only a few souls out and about enjoying the spectacle of the new day.
I get up early to travel to my locations before the sun rises in the east, because the time before dawn is so special. The bright colors of the sky that are created by the slowly rising sun are spectacular and are never the same. There are elements of the environment that can affect what colors we see, like clouds, dust, salt air and even pollution, these factors can create unique mixtures like an artist’s painting easel to to create the most beautiful colors of each dawning day.
