I traveled to Western Broward to locate some of my favorite birds to photograph – Birds of Prey. I located the Eagle nest, a Red Shouldered Hawk and a young Osprey. The Eagle was a bit shy and did not offer a real clear shot, but I will visit her again.

We had a clear night over South Florida and we headed out to a favorite spot out in the Everglades. The moon set at 3pm so we did not have to deal with moon light. The stars were shining brightly and the wind was almost still. We put on bug spray and could still hear the buzzing of mosquitoes and got a few bites.
We set out cameras up to capture the stars and some star trails. Each star trail has about 120 image to make one photo. Each image is about 30 seconds and taken 1 second apart then stacked to create the star trails.

We got up at 5am to travel down to Flamingo in the Everglades. The roads were clear and the temperature just turned a little cooler. We traveled first location – Long Pine Key to capture the sunrise. As soon as we got out of the car, the mosquitoes attacked. We sprayed the Lemon Eucalyptus repellent, but it really did not work. I had to pull a screen protection for my head, but I was bit before I even got it on.
Anyway, we braved through the swarms of skeeters and captured the sunrise. After the sun began to rise, we raced back to the car to head down to Flamingo and explore for more locations to photograph. It was a great day , but the mosquitoes were not fun. Definitely going to wait till it gets cooler to visit the Everglades!

It was a late Saturday afternoon on a warm October day. I was chasing the light trying to find a good location to find a sunset. I found beautiful skies and a wonderful sunset over Hollywood.
Took some landscape photos from a small park area near the draw bridge overlooking the Hillsboro Inlet – a quiet place to enjoy the boat traffic and the lighthouse.
